The following rules must be obeyed.
- You may not do covers
- You may not do remixes
- You may not finish a song you started BEFORE November 1
The following guidelines should guide you (along these lines)
- The purpose of this challenge is to force you to write, quickly, without thinking, and without breaking
- This is its purpose, and attempting to somehow avoid that is defeating the function of the challenge
- You will write at least one brilliant song over the 30 days, minimum, trust me, but not if you try to write 30 brilliant songs
- If you worry about making amazing songs, you will have trouble finishing songs.
- If you try to have fun, you will succeed. Finishing songs takes precedence over them being amazing.
- Its okay to write a stupid/crappy song. Don't judge the quality of your work, just complete the songs.
- Avoid 30 songs that sound similar. Once you've done one thing, try something new. You'll run out of things you're used to, and will be forced to try something out of your usual style.
- these are just guidelines, but they outline the benefit you get form this challenge. If you try to meet the challenge, you will be quite pleased with the results.
Crucially, you will be able to see a progress status of how many songs people have uploaded, without passing judgement on the songs.
however, to prevent people from cheating and uploading a bunch of farts, we will remove songs that are empty, pure white noise, or otherwise intedned to trick the system into thinking you've done 30 songs when you haven't.
You should not feel the need to appear victorious, this is not a competition. The progress status is only to help you motivate yourself by seeing your gains visibly reflected.
